Dear Diary,
My first born child was born today. She is such a beauty. Her name is Faith Alexandra Lidla. Her beautiful skin, her stunning green eyes, her quiet little coo, makes me want to hold forever and never let her go. I just love her. So does her father, Jonathan. He's my husband from Georgia. That is where we met. I am from West Roxbury. West Roxbury is where Johnathan and I will raise our family.
I am so blessed to have such a great bundle of joy here with me today. She has the nose of her dad, and lips like mine. Brown hair like her Grammy, and green eyes like her Grams. Grammy is my mother and grams is Jonathan's.
Grams already gave me the "No White Parenting" Talk. Because I am a white woman, she assumes we don't punish correctly. She is right for the most part. I was not punished as a child. Me nor my 3 other siblings. Just because the 4 of us weren't punished doesn't mean all white parents can't discipline. Right?
Of course, she and her family are from the south, so spanking is the go-to punishment. I don't believe in hitting my kids. It's just not right. Of course, grams doesn't see it that way. She always told me to let Johnathan punish the kids, for the "black way" is the right way." I just nod and go about my day. She is something.
I am not worried about punishing right now. She is just a baby and does no intentional harm.

Dear Diary,
School begins on the 8th. I cannot wait until the kids are out of my hair. 😤 They've been driving me nuts all summer. It all started with my eldest daughter, Faith. She was going to her "boyfriend's" house. For the record, middle school relationships don't last more than a month, (speaking from experience) so I should warn her about "true love". Ya know, before she cries and has that emo phase. Like I did. 😬
Anyways. She was messing up her face with makeup and curling her hair. Her little sister, (my third child) Breanna just had to push open the washroom door, (I say washroom to sound more Canadian) and hit Faith in the elbow. Guess what just so happened to be in her hand? The curler. She burned her ear and screamed louder than the "witches" being burned in the Salem Witch Trials.
Then my nightmare began.
Faith dropped her curler, screamed, BREANNA!!! YOU STUPID IDIOT. I AM GOING TO FREAKING MURDER YOU. I can only imagine her face. I think she was too worried about Breanna than she was with the burn.
She chased Bre down the stairs, through the kitchen, in the hall, around the living room, upstairs, then back down until Bre tripped and Faith took a glass of water and poured it on her Bre's face. Faith kicked her and said, " I will spit on your grave when you die. Hope you get hit by a bus." The fact that Johnathan and I just sat there and watched the whole thing happen makes me question my parenting skills.
Bre began to cry. She kicked and screamed for a good ten minutes meanwhile, Faith was dealing with her burn. I can't forget to mention that Faith was yelling how much she wished she was an only child. Jonathan and I just ate our breakfast. Breanna stomped up the stairs and banged on the bathroom door just to annoy Faith again.
All that noise woke up my son Jody. He is my second child.
He pulled Breanna's hair and Breanna let out a big STOP PULLING MY HAIR, JODY!! Jody said, stop banging on the bathroom door, I can't sleep. Faith yells, THAT IS WHAT YOU GET YOU, BRAT. RIP HER HAIR OUT, JODY.
Breanna begins to scream. That wakes my youngest child, Kirk up. He sleeps through most things. But not this time.
Finally, everyone comes downstairs. Everyone is angry at one another. Me being the idiot I am, I ask the kids about their morning.
Faith, Bre, Kirk, and Jody are yelling about their morning and blaming each other for EVERYTHING.
Why did I ask? 😕
It was time to drive Faith to her boyfriend's, take Bre to PT, take Jody to his friend's house before a football game, and get rid of Kirk while I can.
They argued in the car about EVERYTHING. Stuff from years ago too. She is too close, I don't like this song, but he does, I am hot, but she isn't, you're breathing too loud, or you just suck in general.
I am halfway to Faith's destination when I pull over. I was gripping the wheel tighter than a 4 yr old holding his mother because he/she was going to daycare for the first time.
I turn around very slowly to face the children, ALL OF YOU BE QUIET. YOU A DRIVING ME INSANE. PULL YOUR ACTS TOGETHER BEFORE THIS CAR TURNS AROUND AND ALL OF YOU GO HOME. I get back on the road and Bre mumbles, "it's Faith's fault." Then the arguing starts again.
